This Cookie Policy explains how Lemontrend uses cookies, local storage and similar technologies when you visit https://lemontrend.com and related Lemontrend subdomains and services, including travel.lemontrend.com and flights.lemontrend.com.

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

 

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They can be used to operate a website, remember preferences, support security, measure website use, deliver embedded content and support advertising or affiliate attribution.

We also use similar technologies such as browser local storage, pixels, tags, device or browser identifiers and other storage or access mechanisms.

Cookies may be:

  • Session cookies, which are normally deleted when you close your browser; or
  • Persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a defined period or until they are deleted.

 

2. HOW WE MANAGE CONSENT

We use the Silktide Consent Manager to manage your cookie and tracking preferences.

Our consent categories are:

  • Necessary
  • Functional
  • Analytics
  • Marketing

Necessary technologies are enabled because they are required for essential website operation, security, consent storage or similar functions. Functional, Analytics and Marketing technologies are only intended to be activated where the relevant consent has been granted, except where a particular technology is legally exempt from consent.

Your consent choices are stored in browser storage and in the first-party lemontrend_consent cookie. The shared consent state allows your choices to be recognised across Lemontrend and relevant Lemontrend subdomains.

The current validity period for a Lemontrend consent decision is 365 days. After expiry, the stored consent decision is cleared and you may be asked to make a new choice. A normal return visit does not itself restart the 365-day period.

You can change or withdraw your optional consent at any time by using the Cookie Settings control available on the Site.

 

3. COOKIE CATEGORIES WE USE

Necessary cookies and storage

Necessary technologies support core website operation, consent management, security, anti-spam protection, network management and other functions that are required for the Site to work safely and correctly.

Examples include:

  • lemontrend_consent – Provider: Lemontrend – Purpose: stores the shared consent state across Lemontrend and relevant subdomains – Duration: up to 365 days.
  • Silktide consent local storage – Provider: Lemontrend/Silktide – Purpose: stores your consent choices in the browser and synchronises them with the shared Lemontrend consent state.
  • CleanTalk security and anti-spam storage, including identifiers such as apbct_visible_fields, ct_pointer_data, apbct_headless, apbct_page_hits, ct_timezone and related CleanTalk values – Purpose: spam prevention, abuse detection and form protection.
  • wpEmojiSettingsSupports – Provider: WordPress – Purpose: browser capability detection for emoji support – normally session-based.

Other technically necessary security or infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare, Wordfence or our hosting environment, may use cookies or similar technical storage where required for security, bot protection, network management or service delivery.

Functional cookies and storage

Functional technologies enable optional features or embedded content. They are activated when you grant Functional consent where consent is required.

Examples include:

  • YouTube embedded videos – used in selected content such as recipe posts. The YouTube player is blocked until the relevant Functional consent is granted. Once activated, YouTube/Google may set or read cookies or similar identifiers under its own policies.
  • Optional third-party functionality that requires browser storage or third-party connections to provide an enhanced feature.

Analytics cookies and storage

Analytics technologies help us understand how visitors use Lemontrend and measure website performance.

We use Google Analytics 4, implemented through Google Tag Manager and our consent setup. Analytics storage is denied until Analytics consent is granted.

Google Analytics may use cookies such as:

  • _ga – Provider: Google Analytics – Purpose: distinguishes browser instances/users for analytics.
  • _ga_* – Provider: Google Analytics – Purpose: maintains and measures analytics session and interaction information.

The exact duration and behaviour of Google Analytics cookies can depend on Google’s current implementation and configuration. Our current GA4 property uses a 14-month data-retention setting for applicable event and user data, but this setting is separate from the lifetime of individual browser cookies.

We do not currently use Snowplow Analytics on Lemontrend.

Marketing cookies and storage

Marketing technologies support advertising, affiliate services, attribution, advertising measurement and marketing-related embedded content.

Depending on the page and the consent granted, Marketing technologies may involve:

  • Google AdSense and Google advertising technologies;
  • ShopMy affiliate widgets;
  • Rakuten Advertising / LinkSynergy affiliate banners and widgets;
  • Travelpayouts affiliate and travel-search functionality;
  • Disqus and advertising associated with the free, advertising-supported Disqus service.

Google advertising consent is also communicated through Google Consent Mode using the relevant advertising consent signals. Where applicable in the EEA, United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google’s certified consent management functionality may additionally be used for AdSense and IAB TCF purposes.

 

4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND COOKIES

Some third-party services used on Lemontrend can set cookies or access similar browser storage after the relevant service is activated. The names and lifetimes of third-party cookies may change because they are controlled by the respective provider.

Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager

Google Analytics is used for consent-based analytics. Google Tag Manager is used as a technical tag-management layer. Analytics storage remains denied until Analytics consent is granted.

Google AdSense

Google AdSense is used on eligible pages, including relevant AMP pages. Google and its advertising technology partners may use cookies, identifiers and similar technologies for ad delivery, security, measurement, frequency control and, where permitted, personalised advertising.

ShopMy

ShopMy widgets are used on our /shop page and in selected posts and are gated behind Marketing consent. When activated, ShopMy may load its own resources and technical dependencies, including services such as Stripe infrastructure and Google-hosted font resources. Lemontrend does not currently use Stripe as its own checkout or payment processor.

Rakuten Advertising / LinkSynergy

Rakuten affiliate banners or widgets may be displayed in article sidebars. The current implementation is being reviewed separately to verify precisely which network requests, cookies or other storage mechanisms are used before consent. Where Rakuten or participating providers use non-essential cookies, identifiers or comparable tracking technologies, the applicable consent requirements apply.

Travelpayouts

Travelpayouts provides affiliate and travel-search functionality, including on travel.lemontrend.com and flights.lemontrend.com. Travelpayouts and downstream travel providers may use cookies or similar technologies for technical operation, search functionality, referral attribution and affiliate measurement.

Disqus

Disqus is used for commenting and is consent-gated. We use the free, advertising-supported version of Disqus. Once activated, Disqus and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies for comments, advertising, measurement and related purposes. Whether a particular advertising request is successfully delivered can depend on Disqus configuration, browser settings and other technical restrictions.

YouTube

YouTube video embeds are blocked until the relevant Functional consent is granted. Once activated, Google/YouTube may set or read cookies and similar identifiers.

MailerLite

MailerLite is used for our newsletter. Email open and click tracking are enabled. These measurements are primarily performed within newsletter emails and MailerLite systems rather than as a general site-wide cookie service. If a MailerLite-hosted form or related feature uses browser storage, that storage is subject to the applicable consent and provider configuration.

Webpushr

Webpushr is currently used in connection with optional push-notification functionality on our Contact Us page. If you choose to enable push notifications, Webpushr and your browser may store subscription identifiers or related technical information required to deliver notifications.

 

5. SERVICES WE DO NOT CURRENTLY USE FOR SITE-WIDE TRACKING

To avoid confusion with older versions of this Cookie Policy:

  • we do not currently use TikTok tracking on Lemontrend;
  • we do not currently use LinkedIn tracking or a LinkedIn advertising pixel merely because Lemontrend has a LinkedIn profile or sharing link;
  • we do not currently use Snowplow Analytics;
  • we do not currently operate WooCommerce, PayPal or Stripe as a Lemontrend checkout/payment system.

Third-party widgets may nevertheless load their own technical providers. For example, ShopMy may load Stripe resources as part of its own widget infrastructure.

 

6. SOCIAL LINKS AND SHARING BUTTONS

Social icons in our footer are ordinary outbound links to Lemontrend profiles on third-party platforms. They do not, by themselves, mean that a social-media tracking pixel or embedded social feed is active on Lemontrend.

Social sharing buttons on standard desktop/mobile articles are provided through the Monarch plugin, and AMP pages use AMP social sharing functionality. When you actively use a sharing button, the selected third-party platform may receive information associated with that action.

 

7. HOW TO MANAGE YOUR COOKIE PREFERENCES

You can manage or withdraw your optional consent at any time through the Cookie Settings control available on Lemontrend.

You can also delete cookies and site data through your browser settings. Deleting the Lemontrend consent cookie and associated browser storage may cause the consent banner to appear again.

Blocking all cookies in your browser may affect website functionality. Necessary technologies cannot be disabled through our consent manager where they are required for essential operation or security.

 

8. CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY

We may update this Cookie Policy when our technical setup, providers, cookie inventory or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this page and the “Last updated” date will be revised accordingly.
