Tell us about Rozza

Hi, I’m Claudia Dominguez, the creative force behind Rozza, a Colombian clothing brand. Rozza was born to redefine the work of female artisans, seamstresses, and weavers who have dedicated their lives to craftsmanship. Our brand is deeply rooted in Colombian culture, yet we venture beyond the typical Caribbean Chic, experimenting with urban and modern styles while preserving tradition and elegance.

When did you know you wanted to be a fashion designer?

Fashion is in my DNA! My grandmother has been a seamstress for 80 years, and my aunts continue this beautiful tradition. Growing up surrounded by creativity and style sparked my passion for fashion from a very young age.

What’s it like being in the fashion industry?

The fashion industry is a wild ride—fast-paced, ever-evolving, and incredibly rewarding. It’s a mix of creativity, hard work, and constant learning. Seeing my designs come to life and collaborating with talented artisans to promote Colombian craftsmanship is a uniquely enriching experience.

How is the fashion industry in your home country?

The fashion scene in Colombia is booming! We’re seeing a massive surge in local talent, a revival of traditional craftsmanship, and a perfect blend with modern styles. Colombia is becoming a major player in the Latin American fashion scene, known for its quality, innovative designs, and dynamic spirit.

Talk about the changes in your life since you’ve had your own clothing line.

Starting my own clothing line has been a total game-changer. It’s been eye-opening to witness the immense passion, hard work, and collaboration behind every garment. This journey has been incredibly enriching, pushing me to grow both personally and professionally, and revealing the true essence of the fashion industry.

How do you choose your inspiration?

Women are my muse! Their stories, dreams, struggles, fears, and triumphs fuel my creativity. I design with the aim of supporting them through life’s journeys, instilling confidence, and celebrating their strength. My inspiration is a tribute to women, created by women, for women.

In one word, how would you define yourself as a designer?

Empowered.

What advice would you pass along to those starting in the Fashion Business?

Remember, fashion is a balance between art and business. Be 50% artist and 50% entrepreneur. Mastering this balance will help you navigate the industry’s challenges and succeed in the fashion world.

Tell us about your last collection.

Our latest collection, “Mereces + Amor” (You Deserve More Love), is all about celebrating women’s worth. Inspired by Rozza’s mission to uplift the economic empowerment of female artisans, this collection invites women to embrace their value. Each garment is an invitation and a reminder to make empowering decisions that affirm their deservingness. We want our pieces to accompany women on their journey of self-worth and empowerment, making them feel worthy and loved.
