Fantasy Photographer Katerina Klio

Today we have for you guys a special photo-shoot from the amazing photographer Katerina Klio. She is an incredible photographer that makes dreams come true, and in the past, we have made a nice interview about her career. All her pictures are a nightdreams come true. This is a mix of fabulous images with the real world. With her works, I want to bring a little lightness and fabulousness into our everyday lives, but also to show the full depth of feelings that a fairytale hero can feel just like people.

Katerina’s World

I believe that with my work, I can help people to escape at least for a few moments from all the problems and deprivations that surround them in the real world and plunge headlong into the unreal ghostly world of unfulfilled childhood dreams and vague hopes.

My focus is to show people the heroes of what they could be themselves.

The Fantasy

And I talk about a parallel world, where we all are completely different. Not the way society, the routine, and the rules make us, but the way we could be if we could break away from reality. Fabulous worlds and fantasies, classical music and the modern rhythm of life influenced my pictures to a great extent. That is why my heroes feel very real feelings, staying in their unreal world.

I have my inspiration from my travels, children’s books, the works of surrealist artists and my dreams. I apply a lot of editing in my work to make my characters look like an improved copy of people. My passion is to show that our reality in which we live is multifaceted and ambiguous, and therefore I fill my work with symbols and references, as well as add a clear and strong emotion.

This Photoshooting we made together with my students, they helped me during all the shooting, because there were a lot of details, and all of them should work together properly. Before the shooting, I spent almost two weeks to make the dress. It seems to be easy, but it took a lot of time 🙂 I made the hat from scotch tape and used plastic bags, so it was the way to re-use some plastic, and I’m happy with this. So all the costume was really light, and we had to control the wind for the best result.

And, of course, during the shooting, we had a lot of fun:)
