Vienna Secret Tip: Kuchlmasterei
For a couple of days, we had the opportunity to attend the reopening of Kuchlmasterei, the secret tip of Vienna.
Kuchlmasterei restaurant was a complete re-style and have a fresh and romantic look. The successful mix from a cozy living room atmosphere in an elegant atmosphere, food at the highest level and perfectly matched wines invite you to linger.
Following the motto “Tradition & Innovation in the kitchen”, the “Kuchlmasterei” classic dishes made from local, traditional and quality products, mainly organic, with the avant-garde style kitchen are high. Chef Felix Albiez here combines tradition & Innovation.
This night we were spoiled with amazing appetizers like eggplant tartare, potato cheese balls, tomboy shrimps, truffle risotto balls, beef tartar, between others together with Moet Chandon champagne, Müller, Bodega Inurrieta and Ziniel wine, followed by the music of the Wiener Staatsoper.
The night at the restaurant was really special, not just for the amazing food but also for the amazing company, although I was together with my good friend Silvia, I got to know Mrs. Dorreta Carter, a wonderful and interesting woman, News reporter Carsten Pieter-Zimmermann and, of course, my good friend Alexis Fernandez.
The new Chef of Kuchlmasterei Felix Albiez took the kitchen in January 2016, and as far as I know, his work is remarkable. He is originally from the Black Forest in Germany where he learned his craft and led him to his professional career first to Austria, then Ireland, after Shanghai and back to us in lovely Austria.
Around 110 seats are divided among the various rooms of the restaurant. For special flair, the different booths care. While the largest room can accommodate 30-40 people, there are several smaller rooms for private celebrations or corporate events. Between 6 and 20 people can dine here, hold meetings or enjoy private hours in a familiar, elegant atmosphere.
Significant is the wine selection because the approximately 50 pages heavy wine list of Kuchlmasterei includes a selection of around 700 selected wines known & unknown Austrian and international wineries, including real rarities.
If you still don’t know this little treasure, I recommend you please reserve today and have me a magical experience!
