5 STEPS TO MAKE A SELF-CARE ROUTINE

5 STEPS TO MAKE A SELF-CARE ROUTINE

5 steps to make a self-care routine

We already know a self-care routine is very important. But nowadays our busy lifestyle, busy workdays, and of course 2020 may need to be made it difficult to prioritize yourself. However, self care is that the most vital insurance that you simply show up as your best self in every area of your life, and thus, self-care should be completely restorative. Believe it: it’s not really caring for yourself if it doesn’t cause you to have a happy feeling, calmer, and less stressed (looking at you, stinging mask, and overpacked workout routine!).

Because the vacations are coming, stay-at-home orders are still going strong, and stress levels are through the roof, it’s time we take a glance at our self-care routines and incorporate some much-needed upgrades. Here are five easy ways to update your self-care routine to make sure you’re caring for yourself in the best way possible:

1.-Set it up in your calendar!

When our schedules get busy, self-care is usually the primary thing to travel since it is often postponed “until tomorrow,” and therefore the only person we’re breaking plans with is ourselves. But self-care isn't selfish, nor should it's negotiable. Self care is crucial for not only your health and wellbeing (which should be #1 anyway), but it allows you to point out up as your best self within the other areas of your life, whether it’s work or tending to relationships.

Self-care is like charging your phone! You need to recharge your battery to continue with your busy work and continue to kind and caring in your relationships, and overall show up as your best self. It’s the required ingredient for fulfillment in every area of your life, so treat it intrinsically. In this case, you have to be sure you’re consistently putting yourself first, schedule self-care like take time to read, workouts, baths, or downtime to relax into your calendar. Honor those time slots such as you would the other meeting or appointment.

2.-Read a book that improves yourself

The point of self care is to take a position time, energy, and money into yourself. rather than spending all of your downtimes bingeing another Netflix series (although there's always time for that), take a while before bed or very first thing within the morning to read a book that betters you. Whether it’s a, prefer to consume the material that creates you happier, smarter, or healthier. Not only can an honest book impact your life, but spending downtime doing something good for you'll increase your confidence and may even snowball into changes altogether areas of your life. Now that’s self-care.

3.-Confirm “self-care” means “self-love”

Self-care can be seen as something superficial, and not just about making time for friends, or a glass of wine. However, self-care should be about self-love actually, self-care doesn't have a particular definition; it’s anything and everything that creates you are feeling recharged, replenished, and cared for. If you’re unsure what that's for you, take a while going to know yourself: believe what you think in, what you value, and what restores you. Anything you are doing for the sake of self-care should be to enhance the connection you've got with yourself, so saying “no” once you mean “no,” being faithful to who you're, and forgiving yourself is a number of the foremost radical acts of self-care you'll ever practice.

4.-Look out of your home environment

So now we lose count of how many days we have been at home: dishes are piling up within the sink, the junk drawer has gone rogue, and ditch making the bed every morning. Especially if you’re during a studio-like me, you would possibly have given up all hope for maintaining with the space that you simply use to figure, exercise, sleep, and relax in (guilty!). However, your home environment is more important for your wellbeing than you'll realize. Clutter within the space translates into clutter within the mind, while a peaceful environment can impact everything from sleep quality to worry levels. If you’re trying to find where to start out with self-care, try starting together with your home. Turning your home into an oasis isn't only a matter of decor, but an act of self-care.

5.-Move your body!

In some cities the gyms are closed, other cities are still open, but how long? Start moving your body today, with a simple Zumba class, or any other activity that makes you happy and allows you to drain the stress of 2020.

Surprising, Zumba is a full-body workout that will help you burn a lot of calories (39 min Zumba will burn you approximately 369, pretty cool or?) Not to mention that it will increase the release of endorphins, which means it will make you happy!

Remember, there are a lot of things we cannot change, that’s why is important to accept the situation we are living in, and take care of the thing we can actually change, like your self-love…

BEST BEAUTY SECRETS FROM AMANDA BELL

BEST BEAUTY SECRETS FROM AMANDA BELL

Best Beauty secrets from Amanda Bell

Best beauty and skincare secrets from the international Makeup Artist Amanda Bell. Today we talked to Amanda Bell, the amazing makeup artist who work with Pixi beauty, and we learned a lot of beauty secrets and beauty routines, not to mention the go-to products especially for winter. Have you ever asked yourself what are the common beauty mistakes women make? How to pick the perfect red lipstick? And of course, the best makeup trend now that we all have to use facemasks.
Also, in this article, you will learn the best beauty routine to avoid premature aging and why using Sun protection should be included in your daily beauty routine

Tell Me What Do You Love Most About Makeup?

That makeup can be pure creativity, it can be such a personal experience and with makeup, you can experiment and it isn’t quite right (you can blend/mix different shades together) and if something isn’t quite working you can wash it off! Makeup can be so uplifting for the spirits!

I take inspiration so much from *vintage Hollywood/Film, advertising/catwalk looks from the ’70s & ’80s, Music/French Film of the ’60s/ from colors we find in nature, make up is like the ultimate accessory!

Do You Know What Are Some Common Beauty Mistakes That Women Make?

I think using too heavy/thick textured foundation can be very much like obscuring the skin. It is better to find a foundation or base that is as sheer as you are comfortable with and then use concealer tapped into any areas that you feel need extra coverage.

Tell Me How Do I Get Rid of Wrinkles?

There are 2 ways to look at wrinkles 1: is to think that they are ugly/unappealing or 2: That they show a little character and that you have life experience. I am 48 and aging doesn’t scare me, I definitely see signs of aging but I also embrace that it is a natural process. There are definitely ways to keep the skin in excellent health with a fresh/glow which definitely is more flattering and youthful.

These are my top tips:

  • Regular maintenance is the best way to look after your skin (don’t sleep with makeup on
  • Use Sun protection every day when going outside (as sun damage is accumulative).
  • Don’t smoke as it causes premature aging
  • Use Vitamin C in skin care to prevent the skin from premature aging
  • Use Retinol (a Gentle version) Like the Pixi Retinol Tonic to minimize the lines and reverse signs of aging
  • Don’t use all matte makeup (I can look very flat) adding a little glow keeps the look more *modern* and is more flattering

Suppose If You Could Pick One Unique Product or Service Offering, Which Would Be Your Favorite, And Why?

I love face masks- they can be used as multi-masking choosing different masks for different properties: EG: Deep Cleansing followed by a hydrating or Energising & brightening followed by calming & soothing. Masks are results-driven and like the ultimate *Booster* to keep the skin in excellent condition which is the *At home* alternative to a superb facial.

As You Know Today's Woman Is Busier Than Ever. What Is the Easiest/quickest Way to Turn A Day/work Look Into Something That Works For Night Out?

  • Using a softer mascara for your day look that you apply by rolling the brush from the root to the tip- for a night look choose a thicker/volumizing mascara and add 1 extra coat over the softer mascara and with this more dramatic effect mascara zig-zag the brush through the lashes adding extra drama.
  • Add a little extra smokey liner to the outer part of the eyes on the upper and lower lid and blend for a sultry effect with a clean precision blending brush or clean cotton bud
  • Add a little extra definition to the lips- matte the existing color on your lips with a tissue add a layer of lip balm and take the excess balm off the lip with the clean side of the tissue and then re-apply your lip color and add a berry/red blended with a little of your favorite day-time shade to just dial it up!

Tell Me How Do I Pick the Perfect Red Lipstick?

There is definitely a red for everyone

Step 1. How bright do you want it to be: choose Muted/Mid/or Bright

Step 2. Find the right undertone Cool has a blue/Berry Undertone, Neutral is the classic Fire Engine Red and a Warm Red will be more Orangey Red/Brick red

Step 3. What density of pigment do you want Sheer/Medium/Fully opaque

Once you have factored in all of the above you will be able to find your perfect red (also a top tip) don’t swatch lipsticks on the back of your hand (swatch them on your fingertips) the fingertip is closer to the natural color of your lips and gives a truer representation of the color.

Since the last time we saw each other, I became a huge fan of Pixi Beauty, especially their toner. Tell me how important is the toner in a beauty routine

A lot of people think that a toner is a part of the cleansing routine, the truth is if your Toner is still lifting dirt/pigment off the skin, you simply didn’t clean the skin properly!

A Toner should be a liquid treatment and at Pixi, there is a toner for every skincare concern:

  • Gently exfoliating/Glow Enhancing- Glow Tonic
  • Brightening & Energising- Vitamin C Tonic
  • Smoothing & works o signs of aging- Retinol Tonic
  • Nourishing & Moisturising- Rose Tonic
  • Soothing & Hydrating- Milky Tonic

What is the best beauty routine for winter?

  • With skincare use, light layers of moisture, and ingredients like ceramides which give time-release moisture my top picks are:
  • Pixi’s Rose Ceramide Cream & Hydrating Milky mist for keeping the moisture levels balanced and the skin in perfect condition.
  • Also switch from drying/or matte formulations of color like powder blush and try moisture-boosting creams which add a healthy/fresh burst of nourishing color like Pixi On The Glow Blush sticks

Now that we all have to use a facemask, what is the best makeup trend?

  • Focusing on eyes with make up- Prepping the eye area before make up my favorites are the DetoxifEYE patches (kept in the fridge) to enliven and de-puff.
  • And double cleansing at night to keep the skin immaculately clean and in perfect condition.
  • Instead of using a powder to fix your base try a finishing spray/Make up fixing mist so that the skin has minimum makeup on under the mask (try make-up Pixi’s Fixing Mist- to lock down the pigment.

What’s it like being in the fashion industry?

It is a world that requires constant innovation, that requires reinventing yourself over and over again, it is a cycle that never stops.

Sofia Delgado Fashion Illustrator

My first project within the world of fashion began when I made a collection for the Studio Nueve.Cero collective and it helped me a lot to give visibility to my work

The most important change is that I have in my hands the great possibility of creating without any barriers, without limiting my creativity and so I can take more risks.

How do you choose your inspiration?

Most of my inspiration comes from different times and moments in history, although I also really enjoy researching and looking for inspiration in architecture, graphic design, lights and colors.

OLGA ALESHINA RUSSIAN PHOTOGRAPHER

OLGA ALESHINA RUSSIAN PHOTOGRAPHER

Olga Aleshina Russian Photographer

Olga Aleshina is a photographer with 6+ years of experience she is going to tell us her story. She was born in Tver, Russia. After finishing the University, she worked as an interpreter at the International Marriage Agency and, in parallel, worked as an English tutor for children. Then she understood that it was not what she always dreamt of.

‘‘Photography has always been my favorite hobby. At first, I worked for a NewbornPhoto company, and then went deep into the art and fashion industry‘‘

Since 2014 she has been working as a freelance photographer doing shots in fashion and art, constantly improving her photography skills.

What is most important at the moment you take a picture of a beauty photography session?

The most important thing at the moment I take a picture for a beauty photography session is the connection between me and a model, it’s a thin invisible thread that makes us feel the same things. Sometimes I don’t even ask a model to do something for me, I just explain the idea.

From where you get your inspiration

I get inspiration from different things, from people to nature. Music and films have also a great impact on me. And the other photographers’ works as well! Despite my style, I do like to get inspiration from photography of the 20th Century, such as Sarah Moon, Helmut Newton, and Dora Maar.

Olga Aleshina Russian photographer
Olga Aleshina Russian photographer

How do you look for the perfect spots?

As for the perfect spots for the photography sessions, I always start from the idea. Mostly, I take pictures outdoors because I’m in love with natural light and the air in the frame.

Describe a typical shoot.

One more important thing about my photography is a crew. Stylists and make-up artists play a big role in this industry. I would have never found some clothes and accessories by myself if I didn’t have a stylist. Here is how we create shoots. The idea comes first. Then we’re in search of an appropriate spot and a model. We think over the concept and the desired result. Usually, the session lasts up to 5-6 hours on the whole, but it can take less or even much more time, depending on the idea.

Were you educated in photography, or are you self-taught?

I’m a self-taught photographer and not ashamed of it. My first steps were a little bit disorderly, but they threw me up and made to learn more and more. I watched so many photography-themed videos and got acquainted with people in this field that definitely developed a non-academic or classic view of photography.

Olga Aleshina Russian photographer
Olga Aleshina Russian photographer

What camera do you use most of the time?

I use Canon 5D Mark IV and the lens of 35mm 1.4.

Which photo are you currently most proud of?

I’m not so proud of my works, but here is the one that revealed me to people as a photographer who feels the light, color, and people’s emotions. I can’t say that this my best work, but it always reminds me to hear myself.

Olga Aleshina Russian photographer

Comparing where you are now with where you are when you first started, what could you have done differently to get to where you are sooner?

I could have changed just one thing to get where I am sooner. That is being braver. I’ve spent too much time unwilling to try something new.

Favorite photography book?

As for favorite books, I love the one with the collection of photos by Helmut Newton in Monaco.
