RESTAURANT KUCHLMASTEREI VIENNA

Vienna Secret Tip: Kuchlmasterei

For a couple of days, we had the opportunity to attend the reopening of Kuchlmasterei, the secret tip of Vienna.

Kuchlmasterei restaurant was a complete re-style and have a fresh and romantic look. The successful mix from a cozy living room atmosphere in an elegant atmosphere, food at the highest level and perfectly matched wines invite you to linger.

Following the motto "Tradition & Innovation in the kitchen", the "Kuchlmasterei" classic dishes made from local, traditional and quality products, mainly organic, with the avant-garde style kitchen are high. Chef Felix Albiez here combines tradition & Innovation.

This night we were spoiled with amazing appetizers like eggplant tartare, potato cheese balls, tomboy shrimps, truffle risotto balls, beef tartar, between others together with Moet Chandon champagne, Müller, Bodega Inurrieta and Ziniel wine, followed by the music of the Wiener Staatsoper.

The night at the restaurant was really special, not just for the amazing food but also for the amazing company, although I was together with my good friend Silvia, I got to know Mrs. Dorreta Carter, a wonderful and interesting woman, News reporter Carsten Pieter-Zimmermann and, of course, my good friend Alexis Fernandez.

The new Chef of Kuchlmasterei Felix Albiez took the kitchen in January 2016, and as far as I know, his work is remarkable. He is originally from the Black Forest in Germany where he learned his craft and led him to his professional career first to Austria, then Ireland, after Shanghai and back to us in lovely Austria.

Around 110 seats are divided among the various rooms of the restaurant. For special flair, the different booths care. While the largest room can accommodate 30-40 people, there are several smaller rooms for private celebrations or corporate events. Between 6 and 20 people can dine here, hold meetings or enjoy private hours in a familiar, elegant atmosphere.

Significant is the wine selection because the approximately 50 pages heavy wine list of Kuchlmasterei includes a selection of around 700 selected wines known & unknown Austrian and international wineries, including real rarities.

If you still don’t know this little treasure, I recommend you please reserve today and have me a magical experience!

ROYAL ACADEMY PAINTING THE MODERN GARDEN

ROYAL ACADEMY PAINTING THE MODERN GARDEN

Royal Academy Painting the Modern Garden Monet to Matisse

Some of the world’s finest artworks, loaned from leading art galleries and private collectors, are tastefully exhibited under the roof of London's premier art gallery at the Royal Academy of Arts.

Masterpieces by Monet, Matisse & Tissot are some of the paintings exhibited, the pervading theme being flowered in an exciting palette of colors from subtle pastels, shades of pink and lilacs, well known being the water lilies in Monet’s classics to a riot of vibrant colors in Vincent van Gogh’s contemporary style.

Paintings are hung tastefully in the grand opulent surroundings, all finely complimented on walls specifically painted in shades to best accentuate the canvasses and frames.

It is exceptionally hard to select my favorites among so many fine works. However I would have to include the following:

Claude Monet, Nymphéas (Waterlilies), 1914-15 Oil on canvas, 160.7 x 180.3 cm Portland Art Museum, Oregon. Museum Purchase: Helen Thurston Ayer Fund, 59.16 Photo © Portland Art Museum, Portland, Oregon

What drew most visitors to this particular occasion were the three giant water-lily canvasses by Monet that were being reunited in this rare exhibition.

A most enjoyable, enlightening visit followed by a gastro treat at The Wolseley. Our waiter from Puglia set the seal on an altogether fabulous day.

FASHION MODEL SARAH BAUMGARTNER

FASHION MODEL SARAH BAUMGARTNER

Fashion Model Sarah Baumgartner

Today we bring you guys, and nice interview we did to the model Sarah Baumgartner, she lives in Salzburg and we had the opportunity to meet her back in December. She starts her career as a model 5 years ago and so far she has made beautiful pictures that we are going to show you today!

Where were you born and what was your pre-model life like?

I am pretty sure my life didn’t change too much. What definitely changed is that I started to surround myself with more creative people, people in the fashion and art industry. As a model you always have to stand up for yourself, there will always be people, who will try to bring you down or talk badly about you, but as long as you are happy and confident with what you do, you will not spend too much energy on that kind of negativity.

How have you been discovered?

I have never been “discovered”. The first time I stood in front of the camera was nearly 5 years ago. I will always remember that day. It was actually just a Best Friend shoot with my friend Melanie and the photographer was Richard Schnabler. Out of all the pictures he took, we could only pick a few because my eyes couldn’t hold any focus, I didn’t know how to pose and so on. After that shooting, he introduced me to a model and photographer group in Salzburg and that’s where it all began.

When did you decide to become a model?

As I said, I never decided to become a model, it just came into my life quite spontaneously and I had fun doing it. So I kept working on it, built my community up and tried to get better all the time.

What has been one of your favorite career experiences so far?

I just love to work with the friends I made in that community and to express myself in a piece of art. It is hard for me to talk about career experiences because I am only 1,70, which means that most of the time I am just too small and with 61 Kilos I am either too heavy or too thin for most modeling jobs. Having an average weight makes it hard to find jobs, but that doesn’t apply to do creative projects with friends! And as it was always just a hobby of mine, that’s ok for me. But of course, I would like to do it on an even more professional level and even though I know I worked on my posting and face expressions and many photographers told me I could cope with other “business models”, it’s hard to find an agency.

Did you have an interest in modeling or fashion before starting as a model?

I was interested in creative work and even more in fashion, but modeling gave me a different view on it. It showed me how much work goes into one single picture, what it takes to make the world think that it is perfect and how the pictures on the media influence human society. Studying sociology and taking courses about fashion and similar topics at University (especially courses held by Cornelia Hahn) gave me a different point of view on fashion. This all combined with my latest project “NakOuture” finally made me realize that fashion is a big part of my life.

PASSIONFRUIT TART RECIPE

PASSIONFRUIT TART RECIPE

Passionfruit Tart

Oh, Sunday! Today I wanted to try something new, and I prepare for you guys a Passionfruit Tart. In Venezuela, we have all kinds of tarts, well known as pies, and the most beloved of my friend is my Lemon pie, however, I have never been a fan of Passionfruit. I remember that my mother used to send me to school with my fresh passion fruit bottle and to be honest I hated, I like almost all the fruits but passion fruit was a no go for me.

The funny thing about this story is that, since I am in Europe, I actually miss this particular tropical fruit, so today I decide, instead of making my normal Lemon pie, I will try a passion fruit tart, and of course here is the recipe.
