WHAT TO DO IN PARIS – ONE DAY TRAVEL

WHAT TO DO IN PARIS – ONE DAY TRAVEL

What to do in Paris - Paris Travel Guide

Paris, rightly known as the City of Lights, is full of hotels, eateries, shops, attractions, beauty, and of course romance. This guide intends to facilitate both who have been there before and the ones who are traveling to Paris for the first time. It will provide a brief Paris Travel Guide guide to the travelers on where to stay, eat, and places to visit. Although I was just for 24 hours in Paris (birthday gift from my soul sister) I got to know a lot of beautiful places, and we walk around the center and admire the beauty of this incredible city

Where to stay in Paris?

With hundreds of hotels being offered by Paris, it can get a confusing task to finalize one. The final decision of where to stay is normally based upon the places you want to visit. Once you have shortlisted the places you want to visit, you need to check which arrondissement they are located in. Then, you can check for the hotels according to your budget in the same arrondissement. This is always a safe and convenient option as it makes traveling easy and inexpensive.

Furthermore, after arrondissement, the next factor which determines where you will be staying is how much you want to spend on a hotel. French hotels are properly regulated (by the government) according to their star ratings. If you plan to spend the least amount of money on a hotel and want to check for a one or maybe two-star hotel, then the very least is what you will be getting from your accommodation.  For the tourists, three-star is the best recommended if they do not wish to spend more on the hotel because they are the most reasonably charged and are also comfortable to stay in.

Where to eat?

Food is one of the most fundamental attractions of Paris! The mouth-watering that Paris has to offer can simply not be compared to anywhere else. Some of the world’s most famous restaurants offering the best food are in Paris. Paris has every type of restaurant and cafe to offer. Just like hotels, restaurants, and cafes ranging from inexpensive ones to moderately priced cafes to some of the world’s most expensive restaurants. Despite the price differences, the food offered even by the roadside vendors is excellent.

Few of the inexpensive cafes in Paris include The Hood Paris, Pizzeria Popolare, Miznon, and Filakia. Chartier, Chez Gladines, and Nous 4 are few of the highly rated and budget-friendly restaurants which offer some really delicious food and if you are looking for some fine dining, then Le Jules Verne, Epicure, and Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athenee are few of the common choices of visitors.

If you are looking for a Paris experience, then you cannot miss Allard, which is one of the last of its kind classic gourmet restaurant, another incredible experience is Septine who's chef is Bertrand Grebaut, one the most talented chef of his generation. But my favorite is the Hotel Costes Paris Restaurant; where you can sit on the terrace and enjoy an incredible atmosphere... my favorite dish the lobster pasta...

All you need to know is the dinner time in Paris is around 7 pm or 8 pm. Furthermore, if you plan to travel to any smaller city from Paris, then you need to know that cafes in smaller cities are often closed between lunchtime and dinnertime.

What to see?

Paris is known for a few of the world’s most famous places which attract hundreds of tourists from all around the world. They mainly include Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Le Marais, Musee d’Orsay, and Versailles Palace. Although, it is not possible to visit all these places in one day a priority list can be made by the visitors starting from the one they want to visit the most.

FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER ANGELA BUONO

FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER ANGELA BUONO

Fashion Photographer Angela Buono

Angela Buono is an Italian fashion photographer, who is in love with life with a fashion heart. She was born in Castel San Lorenzo and since 2014 she lives in Milano where she studies fashion Photography in the European Institute of Design. She has transformed her passion into her job, and we did a nice interview about her career as a photographer.

Tell us about yourself when did you know you wanted to be a photographer?

There is no precise moment when I realized that I wanted to be a photographer. Today at 11 pm, after ups and downs, fears and uncertainties, sacrifices and defeats, I am a photographer.

Being a photographer is not a job it's a lifestyle. Your eyes, your vision of the world, were not born suddenly, it is a gift that has developed over the years and will continue to grow forever.

Do you think that as a child I used to photograph people by cutting off their heads from the frame? Some might say that this is also art ... we could read between the lines and say that diversity makes us unique.

What is most important at the moment you take a picture?

Taking a picture is building and telling a story. Exactly, build and tell, so different words. We can distinguish two photographs in an image:

1 Construction: the beauty of perfection with which photographer, makeup artist, stylist, and model have created a trend shot;

2 The story: a woman, behind a lens, posing to better show the work of others made on her. The eyes of a woman who at that moment are playing a role.

The most important moment is this ... is the relationship between the photographer and the model. Two women, sharing the same air.

From where you get your inspiration

My inspiration is born everywhere. As I said, you're a photographer at all times of your day. You can't say, "ok, now I leaf through a magazine to get inspiration". The road is my guide. The road that leads me to work, to the aperitif before dinner, to the train station, to the future!

How do you look for the perfect spots?

This is a tough question. Perfect points do not exist. There are sensitive points. How many times have I happened to have on the set the "jolly of turn" who confidently claimed to have found the perfect point ...

The perfect point is when looking in the viewfinder, you can't move anymore because that's the right one, and you don't want to miss the opportunity to make the most of it ... and no matter how many attempts you've made before, the important thing is to feel that small stomach sensation!

Describe a typical shoot.

The hardest part is choosing from a thousand ideas. It is not enough to rely on emotions, we must evaluate every little detail. Imagine having three more doors for each one you open ... it's like a maze. But the result is almost always wonderful because it represents your choices and you know you have chosen well!

Every photoshoot of mine is always a mystery, even for myself, because from light others are born, a background turns into a glamorous atmosphere and an object becomes the element of surprise.

Absolutely, in all my services, light is dominant. For me, it is fundamental to make sure that the light is the undisputed queen because it is thanks to her that everything else works.

Were you educated in photography, or are you self taught?

I studied at the European Institute of Design in Milan. It was a fundamental experience for me. For me studying is important, because you have in front of you experienced people who not only explain to you how to do but also what difficulties may exist. I think the study, in any field, is the solid base that allows you to grow and discover. My motto is: know the rules and break them.

What camera do you use most of the time?

I have always used Canon and will continue to use it. It is not a question of making qualitative differences between the different companies, because each of them offers high-level machines.

When I started I didn't know the structure well, and I got myself conquered by this brand. Then I started to analyze all the lenses to the point of choosing the ones best suited to my work! Today I am satisfied, I have learned the limits and the weaknesses and this allows me to know where I can arrive and how!

Which photo are you currently most proud of?

Another difficult question. They are all my creations, obviously, some prefer them to others. There are some images that fully represent my style, but since I'm still so young, I can't say with certainty that they will continue to be so for a long time to come.

I discussed my graduation thesis a year and a half ago, and the images I made are those that took the most time and study and analysis. This is a series of photographs depicting women from different parts of the world living in Milan. It is a work that combines tradition with fashion, which shows how fashion today, specifically that presented during the #MilanoFashionWeek, is partly inspired by the cultures that populate the city.

The other work I love, represents another sector of photography, that of staging, which wants to be a daughter of #LaChapelle, the great master.

For the future, I hope to find the right compromise between my kitsch and elegant vein

Comparing where you are now with where you are when you first started, what could you have done differently to get to where you are sooner?

When I started photographing, I had the arrogance to already believe what my path would be. Then over time arrogance gave way to curiosity and determination. So I started experimenting.

Today the advice I would like to give to myself of the past is not to stop at the appearance, and not wanting to do that particular thing at all costs but to allow the mind to open up and try new ways.

EVORA COSMETICS

EVORA COSMETICS

Evora Cosmetics Natural Products

Evora is a cosmetic line, I recently discover and fascinated for. For starters, although my skin is not that complicated I like the fact these products are natural and cruelty-free. So far the Aloe Vera products are a must, the Mint Ice peeling, that I have been using for the past week is incredible fine and refreshes and invigorates my skin and helps my skin to get rid of the dead skin.

The Perfumes line is incredible... And so far my favorite is KOS, it remained me to Greece for some reason, and more important the last the whole day. I had the opportunity to talk to Kristin and Daniel to know more about the company and how they started.

How long have Evora been on the market and how did Evora get started in the industry?

EVORA is a matter of the heart. Our parents had the idea to establish their own cosmetic company in 1977. It came out of the fact, that both of them had been working for an American cosmetic company. Mom and Dad were based in Germany and they had a big team working with and for them. After the CEO of that company got killed in a plane crash, the company got insolvent. Our Mom and Dad got the opportunity, to buy licenses for Germany. They did not want to give up their dream about making others and themselves successful with great cosmetics for moderate prices. So they went to the bank, took the risk and established EVORA with the recipes they received. At that time, the focus was on care products with natural ingredients. Of course, we have evolved and we extended our portfolio with a second focus on INTENSE PERFUMES, but the philosophy is still the same: „what´s inside has to be the most valuable part of the product – always.“  High-quality Clean Care and Perfumes, no Animal Testing, no harmful Additives, and no Secrets. We want transparency, and we try to use packaging made from renewable resources. Behind EVORA is not a faceless Corporation, but a Family Business that selects every Product wisely and ATTACHES great importance to the Satisfaction of COACHES and CUSTOMERS.

How would you describe your signature products that define the company

As I had said before, we started with care products made out of natural ingredients. In Germany, it was called Naturkosmetik (natural cosmetics) then. But within the years, regulations have changed and it became hard to call your products Naturkosmetik. Just a special type of ingredients was allowed to use? But for us, we did not want to resign ingredients like hyaluronic acid for example. This is why we had to remove the addition of Naturkosmetik. But –from here we came to CLEAN COSMETICS which stands for: God damn good cosmetics without any harmful or stupid ingredients inside. So we developed a beautiful body, and skin aloe vera line; a hyaluronic line and the most wonderful perfumes in the world.

Tell us about your perfume line

It took us a couple of years before we launched our first perfume. Somedays in the 80s. It came out of my mother's dream to have her own signature fragrance. Said done: they created „KM 14“ – named after our Mom Karin Matousek and her date of birth. People loved it and we got more and more specialized in creating wonderful fragrances. Our fragrances are inspired by the most diverse impressions that each of us experiences on small and large journeys. That's why we work with the best perfume houses in Europe. In order to capture these Stories olfactorically. EVORA has an exceptional range of different perfumes. Each fragrance is mixed with 16% high-quality Perfume oil. Thus, an ordinary EDP becomes an INTENSE EDP. This is what makes our fragrances particularly intense and long-lasting.

What about the aloe vera line?

Most important, we created a funny wordplay out of it and called it ALOEVORA Jhaha, but honestly – we started with Aloe Vera Fitness Juices many years ago. Today, the Aloe Vera plant is experiencing a comeback. Modern science assumes that the balance of minerals, trace elements, and vitamins increases general well-being and ensures a healthy metabolism. By virtue of the success, we experienced with the effect of that plant, we decided to extend our range not only from inner beauty but also to outer beauty products as; for example, our very popular ALOVORA COOLING GEL. The name speaks for itself. It cools and soothes your skin. After the sun or even after tattooing. A friend of ours, she is a tattoo artist, is pretty in love with that product as she uses it for after treatment. Same as my brother and his tattoo addicted friends JMy favorite of the ALOEVORA LINE is the PROPOLIS CREAM. It is so nourishing for stressed and cracked areas of the skin. When I have stressed myself, my skin looks extremely stressed too. I can´t hide it at all. Therefore, I use the PROPOLIS CREAM and my face and skin calm down. I love it.

What is the number one products you have

For women, it is YELA. A wonderful intense perfume that reminds me of Mandarin, Jasmine, and Coffee. Our female and of course the male clients love the smell of that perfume. From our EVORA PERFUME, for men, it is BOGOTA. With elements of Bergamot, Menthe, and Wood. Very extraordinary and extremely popular in France. And the ALOEVORA LINE PROPOLIS CREAM is the most popular clean care unisex product.

Tell us about your Credo ''A beautiful Life’'

A beautiful life combines all aspects of our company. First, you have the products. Made and created with love and passion, cruelty-free and mostly with the idea of sustainability for a beautiful inner and outer life. Second, it refers to our beauty party concept. That means the way of distribution which gives our beauty coaches the chance to establish their own business, extra money, independence, and in the end – a beautiful life. We live our dream, and we want to give this chance to everyone else. No matter who it is. It´s all about passion, self-confidence and – a beautiful life J

What is the next step for Evora?

We always want to involve, and we want to arrive at the German and Austrian markets. Right now, we are very big in France, which is great and funny at the same time. It speaks for us that apparently, we do a good job because the French market is hard to get with perfumes and cosmetics. They are real beauty lovers with a high claim on quality. But: this fact also gives us the confidence to finally bring our beautiful cosmetics and perfume to customers in Germany and Austria. We are really looking forward to convincing with our own conviction: be transparent. Be honest. Treat people and the environment with respect –in the end, we come back to our Credo: a beautiful life.

JUAN MANUEL FANGIO CHIMICHURRI RECIPE

JUAN MANUEL FANGIO CHIMICHURRI RECIPE

Chimichurri Sauce Recipe

Today, I want to show you, Juan Manuel Fangio's Chimichurri recipe. For those of you who don’t know me, Juan Manuel Fangio was my godfather and the best friend of my father.

I still remember, when I was a child all the trips we made with Juan Manuel Fangio to our house at the beach, and all the times he came to Caracas to visit us. Although I was just 11 years old when he died, I still remember his voice.

Juan Manuel is one of the most humble person I ever knew, and he will remain in my heart, no matter how many years he is not here with me anymore.

One of the things stayed in my house to this day is his Chimichurri sauce. Actually, it was just the one thing it cannot be missed in the house.

The History of the Chimichurri

Chimichurri is one of the most beloved sauce in Argentinean and is typically made of finely chopped oregano, parsley, and minced garlic. Although the name origin is unclear, many linguistic holds the name, chimichurri as derived from Basque's tximitxurri.

Many food historians believe that chimichurri, was created by gauchos to flavor the grilled meat cooked on open fires; nevertheless, it is important to highlight that is not a pesto sauce...

In any case, this incredible sauce can absolutely be used in any meat, like steak, pork, chicken, fish, or even sausages. More important it has to be part of the grill.

SWAROVSKI SPRING COLLECTION

SWAROVSKI SPRING COLLECTION

Swarovski Spring Collection

Swarovski is one of my favorite brands, not since now, but for a long time. For some of you that don’t know me; I grew up with an incredible Austrian aunt. Although we were not blood-related, for me she was my aunt and I loved her deeply. My aunt's dream was that I would study art, in the Art School here in Vienna, for that she started to teach me, German, without too much success. However, every time my aunt traveled to Austria, she always came back with a piece of jewelry from Swarovski, that I keep till today. That's the reason I love this brand so much, it just not remained me my dear aunt but also their pieces are incredibly beautiful.

This time Swarovski presents its new spring collection 2019, which represents a positive attitude towards life and an individual lifestyle. The sparkling assortment, inspired by ancient Mediterranean cultures, encourages the modern woman to listen to her feelings even more intensively: #FollowYourInstinct.

Symbols

The shimmering symbols and amulets of Swarovski are based on a profound origin story and enriched the spring with many meaningful moments and a sunny outlook. Nathalie Colin, Creative Director of Swarovski, says of the new collection: "Symbols often say more than a thousand words. Nevertheless, the brilliant shine and sparkle of Swarovski unfold extremely positive emotions, which appeal to the multi-faceted woman of today. This spring, we discover lucky symbols, protective amulets, rare pendants and charms that give our lives a radiant sense."

The filigree designs enchant with natural lightness. The intense, warm color palette shines with gold tones, terracotta, and earthy pink, which perfectly accentuate the unmistakable sparkle of Swarovski. Whether for luck, love, health, growth, positive emotions, strength or just noble style, the Spring Collection offers a brilliant selection of different symbols. Every design is an expression of a feeling, and together they make a brilliant statement.

One of my favorites of the Spring Collection includes:

The sensational Moroccan-style Lucky Goddess line that evolved from Nathalie Colin's Statement Collection Origins. The fresh reinterpretations of timelessly beautiful symbols were presented by Swarovski's crystal charm in coral and turquoise nuances that flow like a waterfall over the refined, gold-colored metal creations.

The noble versions of the Olive line are ideal companions for every day. The new, sophisticated claw frame is reminiscent of bright sun rays and creates a well-balanced balance between statement and subtle style. It provides the perfect setting for Swarovski crystals in natural tones that immediately make you think of sand and sea.

Oxygen is an abstract interpretation of the popular, classic eye symbol. The trendy metal mix and bright blue crystal pave from Swarovski make for a colorful swab good mood, and accents in filigree Mille grain give the It Pieces innovative structures that reflect the light perfectly.
