AUSTRIAN MODEL CHRISTOPH LEITNER

AUSTRIAN MODEL CHRISTOPH LEITNER

Austrian Model Christoph Leitner

Christoph Leitner is an Austrian model that grows up in Carinthia Austria and was discovered as a model when he published a portrait on his Facebook account. Today I stumble upon Christoph Instagram profile, a couple of weeks ago, and his pictures amazed me. Christoph works for Wiener Models, a Viennese Model agency which was founded in 1983. Today we bring you guys his story.

Where were you born and what was your pre-model life like?

Born in Villach/Carinthia in Austria and raised in a small village 30 minutes from Villach, up in the mountains with probably more cows and chicken than people and my only playground the forests around our house. It is a nice place to grow up but very far away from fashion.

Before modeling I worked in many different jobs from electrician to security guard to truck driver or factory worker. I tried a lot.

How have you been discovered?

I was discovered on Facebook after I posted a portrait of me.

When did you decide to become a model?

I was working in my last job. I was driving a big truck through Austria and had a lot of time to think about my life and what I really wanted. I tried many different jobs but I never felt happy, I always felt like there is a different life for me! So I decided to chase the dream I always had and become Model. I lost 30kg and started to do it!

What has been one of your favorite career experiences so far?

People are contacting me and telling me that they love my work and what I‘m doing and some even see me as rolemodel and asking me for advice. I never thought that this will happen to me so these things are always great experiences.

Did you have an interest in modeling or fashion before starting as a model?

Yes, always! Even no one in my family has a relation to fashion or something but I always loved to look at the big campaigns and commercials, dreaming to become one of this guys looking out the TV and down the billboards.

What advice would you pass along to those starting out in the business?

Never listen to them who say you can‘t do it! Never be too shy to be 100% yourself! Stay positive all the time and be patient!

You have become successful for many reasons what do you think the top few are?

I would never give up and I never stop to develop myself mentally and physically. I work on myself everyday and give all I can to become better and better and better!

What is the ultimate goal of your career?

Living my dream as long and good as I can, doing what I really like to do and then the rest will follow on itself

FLOWERS DECORATION BY RO AND RAFF

FLOWERS DECORATION BY RO AND RAFF

Flowers Decoration by Ro and Raff

Elis Hougen works with flowers and creates the most beautiful crowns I had ever seeing. She is originally from Venezuela, to be exact from the Coro in Estado Falcon. In 2007 she moved to Madrid where she met her husband and she ends up in Norway.

Three years ago she started to make flower decoration for parties and today she has her own company where she creates crowns with porcelain flowers.
With her passion and creativity, Elis adopted this crowns with the typical Norway custom called Bunad, and since then Elis has built a name in Norway.

Each crown is completely customized and made by hand, her clients can choose the size, colour texture and type of flowers they want to have, and the result is a unique design made with love.

Why did you move to Norway?

The reason that I moved to Norway was LOVE! I moved to Norway because a fell in love with a Norwegian man, and now I’m happily married here (in the coldest country in the world!!).  We have a wonderful 2 year old son - his name is Magnus and a sweet, giant sized dog,  Catatumbo.

How is the flowers business in Norway?

The flower business is really competitive, and you really have to work hard to stand out and to be remembered. Norwegians have the culture to buy flowers to enjoy it at home, so they know a little bit about flowers and sometimes they do easy flowers decorations themselves, even for their own weddings or events. At the same time I can see that the trend is changing, and it is coming more and more American style, luxury weddings – without losing the Scandinavian touch.

Tell us about your technique?

I can’t say that I have a specific technique when it comes to making my flower decorations, since there are so many different, but I can definitely say that I have my own style and taste about flowers! I’m Venezuelan and we enjoy flowers all around all the year and have amazing wedding decorations. I always have been fascinated about that and I’m coming from a very creative family with specifically my mother supporting me to create my own creative sides.

The Flowers Crowns are made of cold porcelain, kind soft clay, and is created though a very meticulous technique. Each piece is unique! Never will there be two pieces exactly the same, because each flower is made by hand. I make them all myself and to finish one, is a long process. First I make the combination of colors that I’m going to use in the flower crowns, then I need to “model" every single flower by hand, and then heat them up in the oven to keep their form, permanently. Sometimes one flower crown can have more than 100 little pieces and details. It takes time but it is definitely worth it when I see my headpieces together with the Bunad dress or on a beautiful Bride. It is a wonderful feeling just to think about that I’m a little part of a unforgettable moment.

Tell us about Bunad?

The bunad is a traditional Norwegian costume worn by both men and women. It is worn for celebrations and special occasions like weddings, confirmation, baptisms and especially the National day on the 17th of May.

I have been designing different models of flowers crowns that they looks perfect together with the Bunad, and they are being sold together at a few, selected specialty bunad stores. It makes me very proud when I see my crowns in harmony with this strong Norwegian tradition.

Which is your next goal?

My next goal is to continue to build my brand with a unique concept that you don’t find anywhere else in Scandinavia.

Are your crowns specific for brides?

No, not specific for brides, even though really every bride should have one! 😊 I have different models of crowns that can be used at any occasion and party where you want to stand out. They goes of course also very well together with the bunad, and we even get orders for children and babies for their baptisms. Whatever the taste the client has, we can create it after her design and wishes.

THE PERFECT BEAUTY ROUTINE

THE PERFECT BEAUTY ROUTINE

Perfect Beauty Routine

Today I bring you my perfect beauty routine. With summer already here, it is impossible not to go outside and enjoy this beautiful time we have outside.

I feel blessed to have 25 degrees in the middle of April and to be honest with this weather the only thing I want to do is to take my bicycle, do to the Donau and spent the rest of the day in my happy place on earth.

But today is all about my beauty routine, and why I like to pick more natural options than to buy expensive products. Although I have an extensive beauty routine at home, I believe beauty is more an inside-out routine than just expensive creams.

The secrets

Aloe Vera: this is one of my beauty secrets, for example, you can find this magical plant in absolutely every house in Venezuela, and not just for decoration... I like to apply the gel on my face and hair and used as a mask, especially when I am on the beach. You can also use aloe vera for sunburn, to minimize a scar, and more importantly, you can eat it! Although I am not the biggest fan of the flavour of the aloe gel, what I normally do is to cut it in little pieces, (size of a pill) and froze them. My extra secret I take one every morning.

Aloe vera has more than 75 potentially active components and includes vitamins, minerals, saccharides, amino acids, enzymes, lignin, saponins and salicylic acids. It provides 20 of the 22 required amino acids and eight of the eight essential amino acids, and more importantly, it has a lot of collagen, which helps your hair and skin from the inside out.

Coconut Oil: one of my favourite natural face creams is coconut oil, this reach oil has so many antioxidants, and is naturally antifungal, antibacterial and is a fantastic moisturizing. You can even use it as a makeup removal...

Coconut oil can also reduce wrinkles, thanks to the amount of collagen that it has, and more important prevent premature ageing

Nuxe Prodigieuse:in the number one oil in France, and is part of the French beauty routine most women have... This oil you can use it for the hair and skin. My favourite products of Nuxe are the lip balsam and the hand cream. The lip balsam I use before going to bed and make my lips extra soft. The hand cream I have it with me in my handbag and I repeatedly used during the day to keep my hand soft.

Rituals:this company arrived in Vienna not so long ago, and since I try their products, I fall in love immediately, not just because their products are great, but also because the smell of their products is amazing. My favourite at the moment is the body fortune scrub with sweet orange and cedar and the body fortune oil that I put in the shower. This combination makes my skin smell amazing during the day and makes my skin super soft.
